Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop
Or, Bridget breaks her new year’s resolution

Sara and I made a New Year’s resolution to only buy one book a month outside of our book club books. This is largely due to the fact that we’re buying books at a much larger scale than we’re reading them. I currently have two full shelves of unread books, which I will write about at some stage, but I digress.
I was in Galway to celebrate my beautiful friend Jen’s birthday, and invited myself along to my other friend Neil’s trip to Charlie Byrne’s. I’m so glad I went. I’ve honestly never been anywhere like it. It’s full of new and second hand books, stacked in piles and feels like a total treasure trove. I could have spent all afternoon there, but I had to draw the line and leave with three books, only two of which were for me. If you’re ever in Galway, please make some time to visit. It’s definitely worth breaking your resolutions over.
