A reading and writing slump in full force
I think it’s because work is hectic at the moment, and that I moved flat at the start of the month, but I’ve majorly lost my reading mojo. I’m not even going to do my usual roundup here, because I spent the month re-reading The Princess Diaries series, following a deep attack of nostalgia that I experienced when I watched the film adaptation for the first time in about fifteen years.
I am a big believer in listening to our bodies and minds, and in going with what we need at any one time, but I’m really struggling with this current reading slump. I know that I need to just read what feels fun and right, but when I have a groaning shelf full of things that I’ve wanted to read forever, it’s hard not to feel a little guilty. I also feel guilty about neglecting this blog, but I just haven’t felt I’ve had anything valuable to say and share.
I have two weeks left in work until my summer break, so I think I just need to keep my head down, mind myself and trust that the mojo will return. In the meantime, if anyone has any tips, I’ll gratefully receive them.
